Tourism & Leisure Visit Visa

For non-EEA nationals who wish to visit friends and family in the UK for a short holiday may apply for a Tourism and Leisure Visit Visa.

You will need to show that you are a genuine visitor which means:

  • You are seeking entry for the genuine purpose of visiting;
  • You will not undertake any prohibited activities;
  • You will leave the UK at the end of your visit;
  • You will not live in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive visits;
  • You will not make the UK your main home;
  • You have adequate funds to cover all the reasonable costs of your visit;
  • You will not work or access public funds.

Additional Information

Applications must be made from your home country and before you travel. You will be allowed to stay in the UK for up to 6 months. During that period you may enter and leave the UK multiple times, unless the visit visa is endorsed as a single or dual-entry visa.

You must have sufficient funds which, includes the cost of your return or onward journey, any costs relating to dependants, and the cost of planned activities.
